Privacy

The seller is Samuel Bortey trading as Zestperk, a sole trader. Business and returns address: 10 Indus Road, Shaftesbury, Dorset, SP7 8FU, United Kingdom. Email [email protected]. Zestperk is the trading name. There is no company number because this is not a limited company.

This notice explains how we handle personal information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The controller is Samuel Bortey trading as Zestperk.

What we collect

Identity and contact details you type in: name, email, phone, delivery address, and any message you send.
Order details: the items, the amount, and a reference from Stripe.
Return requests and product reviews you send us, with the order number they relate to.
If you sign up to our newsletter: your email address, the time you agreed and the wording you agreed to.
Technical details that the host logs, such as IP address, which we use to keep the site reliable and secure.

We do not collect card numbers. Stripe collects payment details as an independent controller for the payment, and as our processor for the checkout. Their privacy notice is on Stripe’s website.

Why we use it

To take and fulfil your order, which is a contract.
To keep tax and accounting records, which is a legal obligation.
To reply to messages you send, which is a legitimate interest, or a step you ask us to take before a contract.
To protect the site from abuse, which is a legitimate interest.
To send marketing emails, only if you ticked the consent box. You can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
To publish reviews you choose to send, showing only the display name you pick, which is your consent.

We do not sell your details, and we do not use advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for six years after the tax year they belong to, because UK tax rules expect that. Messages that do not become an order are kept for two years. Newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept for a shorter period by the host.

If you use the shop assistant, on the website or later by phone or WhatsApp, we keep that conversation for 30 days and then delete it. The number of days can be changed in our settings. A case you raise, for example a damaged or missing parcel, is kept until it is resolved and for a year afterwards. The assistant does not take card numbers, and it cannot refund you, credit you, or promise a payment. A person at Zestperk decides that. We store only what you type, or the words transcribed from Talk, and the order reference needed to help, not a copy of your full address in the chat record. A photo or a voice clip is used to answer that message and is not stored afterwards.

Who we share it with

Stripe, to take payment.
The carrier who delivers the parcel, and the UK warehouse that packs it. They receive the name, address, phone and what was ordered, so the parcel can be sent.
Cloudflare, who host the site and the order database.
Our email provider, if order emails are switched on, to send your order confirmation and updates.

We do not transfer your order details outside the UK as a matter of course. Stripe and Cloudflare may process data in other countries under their own safeguards. You can ask us for the details that apply to your order.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, a correction, deletion, or a restriction, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on a contract, you can ask for the information you provided in a portable form. To use these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm it is you.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would like the chance to put things right first.

Children

This shop is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
